Profit centers are used for better analytics/sales and/or purchase overview. They enable additional business overview within the overall business activities of the company. Additional functionality is restricting user's access to data stored

in MetaKocka.

Some examples of using profit centers:

- field sales representatives - the quick overview of sales representatives' performance

- the company has multiple activities - separate the business operations by using profit centers

- the company has multiple branches - separate the business operations by using profit centers

- the company has multiple online stores - the company needs a sales overview of each online store

The procedure for entering and specifying the profit center for the user and document is the following:

1. Settings - Registers

Select "Registers"

2. Select register "Profit center" - add values

Click on the selected register and correct/add values by clicking "Add record".

3. Save entered register data

Save entered values.

4. Specify the profit center to a user/online store

If a profit center should be automatically assigned to a user in MetaKocka, when they create documents, find the user, and open for editing.

(Settings/Users)

In the page header (right-hand side) select the previously entered profit center value

Once everything is set, save your entries.

If a profit center should be assigned to an online store, go to Additional settings/Online stores

Select the online store and set everything else as displayed below.

Save your settings.

5. Restricting user's access - documents visible and editable within their profit center

If in MetaKocka, users' insights into documents and editing rights should be restricted, so that they can only see documents of their profit center, mark their access privileges in the privileges tree, located in the bottom part of the form:

Once it is done, please save the changes. After re-logging in, the user's access will be up-to-date with previously specified privileges.

6. Manual specification of profit center on documents

If a user has no profit center specified in advance, one can be selected manually - on the document

Click on the icon for specifying/distributing the amount across profit centers (displayed below) and a dialog will open. The default profit center will be shown together with the amount assigned to that center.

First, remove the record (2) and select the profit center to which the amount should be allocated, then click on Add and Save

(displayed below),

Once it is saved, the amount will be assigned to the selected profit center.

If the amount should be distributed among multiple profit centers before clicking "Add", adjust the amount and then click Add. Select the profit center once again (1) and there will be a remaining amount - an undistributed part of the amount, click "Add" and then "Save".

7. Printing reports - filtered by profit center

Reports can be filtered by selecting the desired profit center in the printing dialog in order to prepare the analysis (an example of RVC reports displayed below)

After clicking "Print", the report will be generated for the selected date range, while the included documents will be printed only for the selected profit center.

8. Report printing - filtered by profit center

For analysis preparation, you can filter the reports by selecting the desired profit center in the print dialog (below is an example of an Rvc report).

When you click Print, the report will be generated for the selected date range, and the included documents will be printed only for the chosen profit center.
